Is Risk of Rain 2 Cross Platform?
Risk of Rain, known for its challenging gameplay, becomes more enjoyable with friends. The new Risk of Rain 2 version has players wondering: can they play together across these platforms?
Playing challenging games is more fun with friends by your side. It’s great when games let players on different gaming platforms team up. Adding cross-platform to Risk of Rain 2 would be a welcome feature for such a challenging game.
Is Risk of Rain 2 Cross Platform?
Risk of Rain 2 features online multiplayer but doesn’t support playing across different platforms. Nintendo Switch gamers can only play with fellow Switch players; the same goes for PC players.
This means you can’t team up with a friend on a different platform than you — whether they’re on Nintendo’s Switch and you’re on a different console or PC.

Unfortunately, cross-platform multiplayer games are still not widely available in the industry. Regrettably, Risk of Rain 2 doesn’t offer cross-platform play, so if you wish to play with your friends, everyone must be on a similar gaming platform.
Risk of Rain 2 offers various options for playing with others. You have the option of joining online matches or picking local couch from the menu. In online multiplayer, you can create an open, private, and friends-only lobby, or join one from the list. There are options to customize the difficulty and vote on specific game rules.
As for cross-progression, Risk of Rain 2 doesn’t have it. This means your unlocked items and characters are tied to the specific device where you earned them. If you switch platforms, you must start fresh with a new account.
