Support for cross-play has grown significantly in recent times. Gamers no longer want their choice of console to limit who they can play with.

Recognizing this demand, nWay Inc., the developer behind Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, has taken a significant step forward.

Their game has become the first fighting game to offer five-way cross-platform play, allowing players on different systems to compete against each other seamlessly.

This achievement was celebrated on the game’s Twitter account, highlighting it as the first fighting game to enable cross-play across such a diverse range of platforms.

The remarkable aspect of this development is that Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is a fighting game. Typically, fighting games require excellent netcode to prevent lag during online matches.

The inclusion of cross-play adds an extra layer of complexity, making it challenging to maintain a smooth gaming experience.

Despite these technical hurdles, nWay Inc. has successfully implemented cross-play, making it even more noteworthy that a Power Rangers game achieved this milestone first.

The availability of the game on Stadia starting June 1st is a clear indication of nWay Inc.’s success. This move is expected to expand the game’s player base significantly.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid isn’t as popular as some other fighting games, but its historic achievement in cross-play and its availability on multiple platforms could change that.
