Ark 2 is set to launch on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Game Pass, developed on Unreal Engine 5, making it one of the most significant upcoming titles for Xbox Series X this year. In the meantime, read on to discover everything we know so far about Ark 2.
The release date for Ark 2 has been postponed to “late 2024”
Studio Wildcard has once again postponed the release of Ark 2, now slated for late 2024. Snail Games, a support studio, confirmed in December 2023 that Ark 2 is still on schedule for a late 2024 release.
Initially revealed at The Game Awards in 2020, Ark 2 was set to launch in 2022. However, after two years without updates, Studio Wildcard pushed the release to 2023 before delaying it again to 2024.
In a community post, Studio Wildcard announced the new late-2024 launch date, stating.
“We’ve put much thought into delaying ARK 2 for the betterment of the final product and the team’s well-being… So why the delay? Our goal is to make ARK 2 the best game it can be and provide a truly exceptional and rewarding experience for players.”
Ark 2 Available platforms
Ark 2 is among the most eagerly awaited PC games of 2024, but it also comes with a period of console exclusivity.
As a launch exclusive for Xbox Series X, Studio Wildcard announced its partnership with Microsoft Gaming when the game was first revealed. Additionally, Ark 2 will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.

Is Ark 2 coming to PS5?
The question of whether Ark 2 will be available on PS5 still needs to be answered by Studio Wildcard. Currently, Ark 2 is listed as a “console launch exclusive” for Xbox Series X, indicating it will initially be available only on PC and Xbox Series X for an unspecified duration.
After this exclusivity period, it may come to other platforms, such as the PS5. Considering the success of ARK: Survival Evolved on PS4, it wouldn’t be surprising if this sequel eventually makes its way to PlayStation once the Xbox exclusivity ends.
