K.O.L.M. - Stage3D / Away3D Kickstarter Game

From Antony Lavelle:

This is my Stage3D / Away3D project I’m kick starting, if you’d like to pass it around or back me that would be amazing Special thanks to Rob Bateman of Away3D and Flash Daily for talking with me last week when I kind of jumped the gun!

Football inspires! Bring life to your inspiration with Flare3D

The Game is simple, drag the ball to define power and direction. The shooting height is defined depending on the position you pick up the ball (picking the ball  in the bottom you get a height shot).  The game use physics and is really simple.
This example works with a custom Dev Build library (included with the example), this library was compiled only for development and testing purposes. If you want the latest and stable version of Flare3D you can get it from our website.
Take this example as inspiration, we will be happy if you take the challenge to build your own football game, adding moves, headers, dribbling, etc…

Article: Why I keep using Adobe Flash?

@alesys_net I’m in the same pos. Been learning Unity, Haxe, but when it comes time for me to make the 2D RPG game I want, AIR works best.

Actionscript GameDev Tutorial:
Create a Hockey Game Using Steering Behaviors: Attack

In this tutorial, we continue coding a hockey game using steering behaviors and finite state machines. In this part of the series, you will learn about the artificial intelligence required by game entities to coordinate an attack, which involves intercepting and carrying the puck to the opponent’s goal.

Intruder Combat Training 2x

Will you be the next top special forces operative? ICT2X is a free flash 2d offline arena shooter playable in the browser. Players level up their characters and unlock new guns, attachments and outfits. 4 modes, 12 special missions and free play are waiting for you! The game is powered by mmankt.com’s mGine2X - an updated and refactored engine from the first game. It’s not using stage3d. It features all the basic stuff you’d expect from a good shooter engine- bitmap caching, box2dAS3 physics and ragdolls, particle effects with collisions, bullet ballistics with penetration and ricochets, destructible objects, stereo audio with distance fading, bot path finding and skeletal animation. (done by my proprietary system called puppeteer as3 + c# runtimes - will be free for the public in some time).

I’m using tons of box2d raycasts for particle and bullet collisions and bot vision. The lighting and blood effects are done with masking and different blend modes.

The game is up for sponsorship. contact [at] mmankt com

Browser Games that use Android Devices with Adobe AIR as Wireless Game Controllers

With the latest update of Adobe AIR app, you will be able to develop Flash based browser games that can use Android devices as motion sensing game controllers. On this page, I plan to maintain a list of browser games that enable this functionality.

IceFruit — Break the Ice!

Free puzzle game for iOS and Android built with Starling. Unlike similar games, every level in the 4 game modes is randomly generated while you play and the difficulty determined based on how experienced you are.

In addition to Starling, we use the Particle System extension, and the AdMob ANE by brinkbit.
